1. Your Rights Under California Law
If you reside in California, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or share
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Delete your personal information (with exceptions)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (if applicable)
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (if applicable)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
2. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
We have collected the following categories of personal information within the last 12 months:
- Identifiers (e.g., name, email address, IP address)
- User account data (e.g., login credentials, account activity)
- Device and technical data (e.g., browser type, cookies, usage behavior)
- Geolocation data (approximate location)
- Content of user reviews and submitted business responses
- Business listing information (for business owners)
In connection with reviews, we also collect: photographs you choose to attach (with embedded metadata removed at upload), a salted hash of your IP address, device and browser information, and the confirmation status of your email address. These elements are used exclusively for fraud prevention and review moderation. When a business asks us to invite its customers, we process the email addresses provided by that business solely to send a one-time invitation.
3. Purposes for Collection
We collect this information to:
- Operate and improve the Goldiew platform
- Authenticate user reviews and business listings
- Provide customer support
- Analyze trends and user activity
- Prevent fraud and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
Goldiew does not sell your personal information. We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share your information with trusted service providers (e.g., analytics providers, email tools) for business purposes only and under strict confidentiality agreements. We do not sell data to third parties or monetize user data in any way.
5. Exercising Your Rights
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, please contact us using one of the following methods:

We will verify your request using the information associated with your account. You may be asked to confirm your identity or provide additional information for verification purposes.
6. Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make a privacy request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof that they are authorized to act on your behalf and verify your identity directly with you.
7. Retention of Personal Information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law. This includes account data, review content, and business-related submissions.
Unconfirmed guest review submissions and their associated email addresses are deleted after 30 days. Review invitation records are retained to prevent duplicate invitations, and invitation links expire after 90 days. Review moderation decisions are logged and retained for accountability.
8. Financial Incentives
Goldiew does not offer financial incentives or price differences in exchange for the retention or sale of personal information.
9. Data Location
All personal data collected through Goldiew is stored and processed in the United States (Virginia) via our hosting provider SiteGround. Your data does not leave the USA.
10. Updates to This Notice
We may update this California Privacy Rights page from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
